I recently came back from a year abroad which was incredibly enriching and fulfilling. I travelled around my family’s native country, volunteered on a farm in Switzerland, explored Eastern Europe, and lived for four months in France. I met a bunch of people along the way, and learnt a ton about myself and the places I visited.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve enjoyed journalling and scribbling all my thoughts down on paper (which eventually turned into the Notes app). That, coupled with my love for design and discovering the world, led to me creating this blog. I’m a pretty candid person with an adventurous streak so I won’t be providing your stock-standard tips!

So what exactly is the Curious Unknown? To me it’s the lesser known places and experiences that most people don’t have at the top of their bucket list. When I travel, I tend to gravitate to the less popular attractions, ones which are more local and authentic. I hope to inspire others to get off the beaten track, or perhaps to provide a fresh perspective on some of the more well-known places.
